Soma Rasa’s improbable collaboration with US hip-hop legends Digital Underground is also their most accessible release to date. Opening with a compact breakbeat underpinning what could be a chugging guitar, the DU crew wax lyrical about the pleasures of the flesh and partying across Australia. The bass is phat, the rhymes are hilarious and, once the ‘Rock The Casbah’-inspired chorus drops, you’re hooked. The remixes don’t stray too far from the source material, but Kid Kay Ferris’s unlikely electro-lounge mix of ‘I Like It’ is surprising to say the least. (GL)
