PERFORMANCE : SOMA RASA W/ PNAU

PERFORMANCE : SOMA RASA W/ PNAU & HOUSE OF DOWNTOWN
DATE : 18 MAY 2001
VENUE: PRINCE OF WALES (MELBOURNE, VIC)
WRITER: 3RRR 102.7 CONCERT REVIEW

Soma Rasa for entree were a big surprise to me. I was up and dancing hard before I realised and nearly wore myself out before the main course. Their drummer was infectious in his energy, the pace was frantic and the passion high.

Pnau played with the crowd. They teased by building their tracks repeatedly and really worked into their set. The live percussionist worked well, but from all reports, not as well as at their last gig at Revolver. I was thoroughly exhausted at the end of their set.

House of Downtown were 'promoted' from opening support to become the dessert of the night after Pnau. Heavily ramped by the Pnau team, they pulled out some interesting and refreshing conconctions that were "Daft Punk-esque".
