BDO - HOT HOUSE 2006
W/ REVIEWED BY TIME OFF (Brisbane, Australia)
Soma Rasa's crazy fusion and high energy makes for an addictive live show. The scratches, rasta-like dancehall vocals and rich rhymes punch out at a growing peak, leaving you no choice but to jump around. Lead by the Hazard brothers, this Brissie combo can take any track and swith it up to something that everone can rave or break to.

Drifting toward the shores of Appolo 440 with their latest works, Soma Rasa hit the stage running in a non-stop extravaganza of beats, live percussion, turntabilism and the verbal harassment of MCs Kina and Handy. Running through their most recent works, the Hazard Brothers, DJ Sampology and aforementioned MCs owened the Hot House as their driving beats had the crowd moving in one large throbbing sweaty mass with Kina and Handy as vocal puppeteers.

W/ REVIEWED BY TIME OFF (Brisbane, Australia) Soma Rasa call in the troops for some heavy impact early on in the Boiler Room, and it’s a strategy that pays off. With both Hazard brothers now twiddling knobs, Ommie on drums and Miss Brown and Kina helping out with vocals, the group come through with a massive set of live house and breaks, including some standouts from their latest On The Run EP. Reviewed by Time Off (Brisbane, Australia) It's early but that doesn't stop the Boiler Room's sizeable crowd from giving their all for Soma Rasa. Performing super-extended mixes of some of their tracks from "I Mix Therefore I Am", Soma Rasa sound like their made for this tent. Thumping kick drums and sub-friendly bass punch out the beat for all to follow.

REVIEWED BY SMOKING DOG PRESS (Brisbane, Australai) Soma Rasa played at midday in the already mostly full Big Top. They had a concise thirty minute set which began as almost straight out hip-hop, built up to a thumping house beat, and then seemed to come down to a comfortable groove by the end. It seems that when Soma Rasa play a short set, they go all out to impress. There definitely would have been some new followers recruited by their awesome performance.

REVIEWED BY RAVE MAGAZINE (Brisbane, Australia)
Soma Rasa continued their upward spiral with a stomping performance of beats and breaks. With Dan upfront on the stand-up drums and DJ Kristian ripping and slicing it up on the decks the crowd enjoyed every bit-bit minute of it.

W/ REVIEWED BY TIME OFF (Brisbane, Australia) Soma Rasa set about intensifying the midday heat with their searing blend of beats, samples and scratching. While Dan's stand-up drumming has provided more of a visual focus, it's the palpable progression they're making with each live appearance that leaves more of an impression. Using the opportunity of a large crowd to debut new material from their forthcoming album, Soma Rasa finished off a set dominated by crashing beats - and a notably low-key use of scratching - with their new single "Future of Der Funk". If their live rendition is any indication, we're in for a treat.
